Our Favorite Sites: Jamie's latest project is the Polka Dot Banner where authors gather and talk about their books. Readers are invited to register for giveaways and free books. Jamie also manages and designed the new Pennwriters site. Pennwriters is a Pennsylvania-based writer's organization and the site is a great place writers and book friends. The Homeschool Hotline our message board and homeschooling info site for Erie County Pennsylvania and its neighbors had to be disbanded due to hackers. It's sad that these hackers had nothing better to do with their time than to prevent a small group of people from having a message board. They seemed to think it was a great accomplishment. Apparently it is a great waste of talent since they probably could be doing much more with their skills than hacking sites. You can now also access the Homeschool Hotline via an email mailing list (or e-loop). To join, send an email to: HomeschoolHotline-subscribe@yahoogroups.com Jamie
Saloff's site based on The
Publishing Center: How to Start One in Your School (Beeline
Books - Heinemann) -a book describing how to help kids' make
books from their creative writing - is available at this link,
however, if you'd like more info, I recommend you email Jamie
directly. Cowan Pottery (one of our very first sites) is temporarily closed except for it's main door during a total reconstruction of the site. The site compliments the book authored by Tim and Jamie Saloff, The Collector's Encyclopedia of Cowan Pottery published by Collector Books. Tom Bird Seminars, Inc. is a distance learning program for writers and our top feature site. This site has grown to over 100 pages offering Tom's books and services as well as archives of his newsletters and a very unusual pictorial bio.
